Timeline: MD7: 1400 hours
He focused on Aurora again. "Now let's get you to Medical, maybe you will learn to be more cautious of your surroundings and not be without support Ensign. Do I have to restrict your duty shifts to Triton or maybe will you calm down and conduct yourself like a Starfleet officer?" He asked her gently but firmly.
Aurora's head jerked up...which ended up hurting. "Please no, Sir! I'll behave, I promise!" Aurora shivered, not just from the cold, but the punctures as well.
"I am Doctor Roman s'Lovok by the way, Director of Sciences, we haven't actually properly been introduced." He said, "please help me get her to Medical," Roman added as he gestured to S'Tera.
"Y...you're the Director of Sciences? Oh boy," Aurora gulped in embarrassment. [Oh man, this guy's my BOSS!] Aurora groaned in her mind.
"S'tera. Nice to meet you Doctor. And yes Aurora, you are going to medical." She shook her head. "She is a good person and a good scientist but a bit too impetuous. OK can you walk on your own or do you need help Aurora?"
"I know, S'tera. Lets see...HISS! Ok...I definitely need assistance," Aurora hissed softly, noting too late as she put weight on her legs that there were more puncture marks than she had first realized.
"And nice to meet both of you as well." Roman said before he positioned himself side by side to Aurora in order to have her put her arm across his shoulders and with S'tera's presence on Aurora's other side the two can support their colleague's weight together. "I do apologize for any pain we cause but you'll have to put your arms over our shoulders so we can get you up Aurora." He instructed.
"Yeah one arm on his and another on mine or perhaps we can transport her directly to sick bay?" S'tera asked.
"No problem guyssss!" Aurora tried to do as instructed...but failed miserably. The pain had increased to the sixth power...something Aurora wasn't used to, and it scared her a little.
Max pulled on his shorts and t-shirt, leaving his specialized trainers on. “Alright, Ensign, you’re done for the day,” Max said. “Culver to Triton Seabase, two to beam to sickbay."
=/\= Triton Seabase responding. Transporting now, Captain. =/\=
A short hum and trill filled the air and the two were whisked away.
S'tera breathed a sigh of relief. "Whew! Glad she's getting taken care of. I suppose we'd better get back at it." She said. Aurora knew she had been careless but that didn't make S'tera any less worried. Still there was work to be done.
Roman blinked as the Captain and Aurora beamed away, he had noticed Tom was with the Captain. Octopus can't survive out of water for too long, unless in a water suit he supposed, it was difficult to tell if Tom was wearing one.
He turned to S'tera. "Well indeed," he agreed, "back to work, though shallow pools for now. I hope medical can give us an idea of how dangerous that stuff on Aurora is and we can plan a deep dive for tomorrow or the day after."
"Here is hoping and that Aurora comes out ok! And next time we will do it with proper safety equipment!"
He gestured around. "If you wish to stick together, collect your stuff and join me," Roman said with a smile.
S'tera gathered her stuff and joined Roman as they headed over back to the shallow pools.
They got to observing a particularly large shallow pool which had a wide range of colourful rocks at the bottom. After a few moments Roman could make up a bubble or two coming from the rocks, he smirked, either something lived in the rocks or the rock itself was alive.
"So what made you become a Marine Biologist?" Roman asked, he wondered why a Caitian would want to get their fur wet, he kept his smirk.
"You know so many people ask that. They seem to think that caitians don't like to get their fur wet. Well some do and some don't. My mother was appointed the caitian ambassador to the federation when i was 10. We settled into the embassy on earth and I discovered the ocean. I was hooked. I loved to swim and play in the ocean! as I grew, I became more and more interested in the marine life on earth and other planets. Triton station seemed like a great place to work on my doctorate! So here I am!" S'tera said.
Roman smiled. "Your doctorate, how long have you been working on that? Mine took eight years back on Earth," Hh said.
"Yeah sounds about right. Although i hope to cut my time on that. Eight years is a bit much. I've been working on it for two. I hope to finish in Four. Hopefully! If I have to go six more then I can but I hope I can do everything here," S'tera replied.
"I wish you luck but there is so much to learn and there are new discoveries nearly every day in just about every scientific field. Okay maybe new forms of what was already discovered," Roman chuckled.
He tapped at the PaDD he had connected via a cable to his tricorder that sat beside him. He had found an opening, small one, at the base of the pool they were at. A scan a meter or two further down revealed a manta ray like creature and it was zooming around.
Roman increased the resolution but it wasn't that great but he could every so often make up the Ray's 3 tails. That's why it was so fast. He wondered if there were more of them, he began to plan what they'd do next time. What they'd need, who he could enlist and a few other actions he'd might need to do beforehand. Ideas came flowing in as he watched the Ray.
While they were watching a strange one came into view. It looked like two rays that were joined together at the wings in some sort of strange symbiosis! "Look at this Doc! This is really out of the ordinary!" S'tera said.
The Romulan smiled. "Of course, as we haven't seen anything of this world's ordinary yet." He laughed, they began recording the happenings in the area.
