Personality & Traits
General Overview | Max is El Aurian, but don’t expect he’ll be a listener. His youthful looks are matched by a youthful age for an El Aurian. He isn’t your average bartender, serving up whisky and advice. He’s essentially an El Aurian in his later teenage years, far more ready for action and adventure than his older, wiser counterparts. Max is proactive, tending to initiate events rather than respond to them. He likes to act independently, a weakness, and he is capable of planning and undertaking very intricate missions. Max prefers misdirection to confrontation and will do his best not to endanger innocent bystanders. Max is extremely observant, with an almost-photographic memory, and his ability to make profound deductions with limited clues is very impressive. He is also very good at hiding his reaction to critical information. He often wins people over quickly by virtue of his charm. He is also incredibly intelligent, and has been considered recklessly daring in his missions. |

Strengths & Weaknesses | + Proactive + Eidetic memory + Intelligence with an almost preternatural ability to make strong deductions - Bad delegator - Bad listener (for his species) - Independent thinking and action |
|

Hobbies & Interests | Playing guitar, swimming, surfing, working out, holo-photography, reading, horse keeping and horseback riding, watching old Terran videos. |
Personal History | Born on the hidden home world of the El Aurians, Maxwell Culver was born in the town of Lua Thelenas, is situated west of A'ransari, the colony capital city. It hugs a sandy coastline which catches the rays of Kaitos' first sun. The beach goes on for miles and behind it stands a city that has been designed to blend with the green world it comes from. Max spent his youngest years here, growing up as an El Aurian child. It was here that he learned of his peoples long lives. He also discovered his people’s long schooling process. Even before his teenage years, he knew he would outpace that schooling. Setting his mind beyond his homework and into the stars. Starfleet had saved his parents almost one hundred and fifty years earlier. It was a well known story told by his family. Now he had a goal to serve others in the same way. Having advanced to secondary school while still living in Lua Thelenas, Max’s parents made the decision to send Max to the best boarding school in Caan Shaeras where he took on the most credits per semester. He graduated with honors in fifteen years, making him the third youngest graduate in the history of the academic capital of the El Aurian colony. Now at age twenty six, Max made the decision his parents expected by enrolling in Starfleet Academy. As expected, with the knowledge of a people ancient compared to Terrans, Max excelled at the Academy. His only confusion came from the sexualization of Terrans. Being young by his people’s standards, he couldn’t understand that he appeared physically older than he was mentally. Especially with his focus on studies, his Terran appearance and his lack of experience in the matter of Terran dating and mating. Like mayflies, they burned bright and died early by his standards. He decided to adopt a personal choice of celibacy while on Earth. Max entered Starfleet in the Federation’s last year of the Dominion War. As a result, he was enrolled in the European Campus in Germany as reconstruction of the San Francisco buildings would take years. His double majored in command and diplomacy, eventually graduating from the newly rebuilt San Francisco Academy. Desperate for strong officer candidates and based on his double major in the Academy, Max was assigned to the USS Cuxhaven, an Ambassador class starship, after its final refit. He was surprised to find his rank of full Lieutenant, working as both Operations and Second Officer. In 2385, the USS Cuxhaven was due to be decommissioned, but due to the Synth attack on Utopia Planetia and Mars, the ship’s decommissioning was delayed. Instead, it would be assigned to the rescue project under Admiral Picard. En route to Romulus, the Cuxhaven would come enter into a skirmish with the Klingon/Reman Alliance. Her First Officer, Luna Amari, would die in the skirmish and her Captain, Leland Townsend, would find himself no longer able to captain the starship. He would give Max a field commission to Captain. Doing no less than saving the crew, Max ordered a hasty retreat. In their new alliance, the Klingons and Remans would be unable to decide whether to pursue and destroy the Cuxhaven. Captain Townsend would recover and the battle damage to the ship hastily repaired for her last two diplomatic missions, now Lieutenant Commander and Executive Officer, Max would insure the United Federation Federation of Planets and the Commonwealth of Klingon and Reman States would sign the new Hobus Accords, named for the Nova star. Further, the Cuxhaven would strengthen the weakening peace accords with the Cardassians using the acceptance of Cardassian students into Starfleet Academy as their biggest offer. In 2392, the Cuxhaven was decommissioned and her Captain retired. As his last recommendation, Captain Townsend filed his final report and recommendations. Max was promoted to full Commander and Executive Officer of the newest Luna class, the USS Aegir. Promoted to the rank of Captain, Max was assigned to one of Starfleet’s newest, and admittedly, most experimental vessel, Triton Seabase. As intended, the ocean explorer made better in-roads with the renewed Romulan Star Empire. With Starfleet backing the RSE against the Romulan Free State and the Romulan Republic, Max was the first Starfleet officer to address the Romulan Senate. This service led to the opening of the former Romulan Star Empire’s fallen, former Imperial space. Equipped with the newest Constitution III class vessel, the USS Intrepid. After its first mission, and after the fall of their former assignment, there was nothing barring further exploration of the Beta Quadrant. A small fleet was assigned and Max was promoted to Fleet Captain of the fleet. |
