Having recently been assigned to the USS Intrepid, I am slowly getting to know her crew. Most of my interactions so far have been through counselling sessions, light conversation in the mess hall, or brief encounters in the corridors.

From what I have observed, the crew works exceptionally well together. They share a strong dynamic and a genuine willingness to help one another. I have an upcoming physical scheduled with the Chief Medical Officer.

I have never been particularly fond of medical personnel. It isn't a lack of trust; rather, the doctors I’ve encountered in the past simply made me uncomfortable.

Perhaps this time will be different. I can be reasonably certain this CMO won't share the superiority complex so common among physicians in the Symbiosis Commission. I was warned early on about their arrogance when I first sought to become joined, but it never deterred me.

There is always a reason behind someone's behaviour. Once you understand the root of it, people become far easier to deal with.
