Personal History		Torbin Vin - First Host. Torbin Vin is remembered as one of the most accomplished hosts in the Vin lineage. During the height of his career, he gained recognition as a leading scientist whose work advanced several areas of Federation research, especially in the fields of xenobiology and planetary ecological modelling. His contributions supported early terraforming initiatives and improved the understanding of long-term symbiont and host neural integration. Torbin was also known for his artistic life. Sculpture was his passion, and many of his pieces remain on display in public parks, academic institutions, and cultural centres across Trill. His work often reflected the natural beauty of the planet, with flowing shapes inspired by rivers, caves, and the unique bioluminescent flora of the northern regions. Several of his sculptures are now considered cultural treasures. He lived a long and fulfilling life, passing away at the age of one hundred and one. The Vin symbiont had been joined with him for seventy-five of those years. Torbin was married to Telah, a respected historian, and together they raised their son Darrek, who later became a Federation cultural archivist. Torbin is often remembered as a host who balanced scientific brilliance, artistic expression, and a deep commitment to family. Lireh Vin (born Lireh Tannree), Second and current host. Lireh Tannree was born in the Salbreen Province on Trill, a region known for its river valleys, artisan guilds, and long-standing family businesses. Her family owned a successful company that produced traditional liquors and speciality beers, a craft that had been passed down for more than three centuries. As an only child, Lireh grew up surrounded by adults, which encouraged independence and a habit of forming close, sibling-like bonds with her childhood friends. Although her family expected she might eventually take part in the business, Lireh's interests developed in a very different direction. From an early age, she demonstrated an exceptional talent for languages. She learned new dialects with remarkable ease and showed a fascination with cultures beyond her home province. By adolescence, she was already fluent in two of the four ancient Trill dialects. Her decision to join Starfleet made her a pioneer within the Tannree family. She became the first member of her lineage to pursue a Starfleet career and only the second to be accepted as a host candidate for a symbiont. Her joining with the Vin symbiont was celebrated by both her family and the Symbiosis Commission, who recognised her emotional stability, intellectual curiosity, and strong sense of cultural empathy. When she graduated from Starfleet Academy, Lireh was fluent in seven languages. These included English, Klingon, Vulcan, Denobulan, Andorian, and two ancient Trill dialects. Her linguistic gifts made her a natural fit for diplomatic assignments, first contact operations, and cultural analysis roles. She quickly earned a reputation as someone who could bridge differences and bring clarity to complex intercultural situations. Lireh's other passion was helping others, from which she gained much satisfaction. Despite her other skills, she focused her efforts in the field of Counselling, as there she felt she could really make a difference.
