Personal History		Born on Krios Prime in 2378, Lyara grew up immersed in the planet’s rich traditions of performance, ritual, and martial training. Her father’s service in the Royal Guard instilled in her a sense of discipline, while her mother’s artistry gave her creativity and poise. At sixteen, Lyara shocked her family by announcing she would not pursue a noble or artistic path but instead enlist in Starfleet. She wanted to see the galaxy beyond the courtly world of Krios. Despite some resistance, she left home at eighteen and began enlisted training at Starfleet Academy’s San Francisco campus. Lyara excelled in navigation and helm simulations, often outperforming cadets. However, she chose to remain in the enlisted track, feeling it better reflected her practical nature. By 2401 she had already gained a reputation as a reliable pilot during convoy escort missions in the Beta Quadrant. In 2404, after years of proven service, she was promoted to Chief Helmsman aboard her assigned vessel—an unusual but respected position for an enlisted officer.
