Personal History | T’Val was born to a pair of high-ranking Vulcan science elders. He was raised on the southern continent. When he was 20 he followed his parent’s logical footsteps into the Vulcan science institute and became an Apprentice and then he became a valuable resource to the institute with many theories. T’Val became Lead scientist at the institute and a professor teaching young apprentice’s. But once he was in this position he began questioning logic and all this that seemed logical. The Elder’s asked him to take a break from his post and refind his logical self, but while on his quest to find logic again he found he could live a better life without Logic. He resigned from his position within the Vulcan Science Institution and took a break to find enlightenment and explore emotions by himself. After two years on his journey of enlightenment T’Val decided to enlist in Starfleet. He passed the entry exam for Starfleet Academy and started his life again within the Federation’s exploration force. During his time at the Academy, he continued his scientific studies. He focused on his work on Mathematics and Statistics, as well as Physics. After graduating from the Academy, T’Val was assigned to the USS Dallas as Science Officer. Once the Dallas had received a minor refit, she was sent to explore and aid in Cardassian Space. The aging USS Dallas was decommissioned. T’Val requested a science vessel posting and was assigned to the Nebula Class USS Atlas. He was promoted to Assistant Chief Science Officer. After a fleet wide shake up of personnel, T’Val was transferred to the USS Dragonstar as her Chief Science Officer. During his time aboard Dragonstar he met and married Lieutenant Amelia Tandy, Dragonstar’s Chief Medical Officer. T’Val was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and given the Executive Officer position aboard Dragonstar. He continued in the role until 2372 when Dragonstar was mothballed and the crew transferred to the newly refurbished USS Galaxy. With the new ship came a promotion to Commander. The war with the Dominion raged on at this time. The Galaxy was part of the Starfleet Force which was gathered for the retake of Deep Space Nine. The Galaxy is involved heavily in the war effort until it ended in 2375. When Galaxy’s Commanding Officer, Captain Bridger, received a promotion and a new assignment, T’Val was promoted to Captain and Commanding Officer of the Galaxy. He served with distinction on the Galaxy until she was recalled for a major refit. T’Val was given command of the Ascension Class USS Guardian. After two successful years Commanding the Guardian, Captain T’Val was reassigned to Starfleet Intelligence by Admiral Bridger to be her Chief of Staff. In 2384, T’Val was promoted to the rank of Commodore and reassigned to the 7th Fleet as their Chief of Staff. In 2390, T’Val was tasked with taking Command of Starfleet Forces in the Klingon Theatre against the Sovereignty of Kahless and was promoted to Rear Admiral. During his time as Klingon Theatre Commander, his relationship with Amelia Tandy became difficult. Amelia filed for divorce. This in turn lead T'Val to decide to retire from Starfleet. Although his marriage had ended, he wanted to be there for their children. |
