| Personal History | Vi was born on the transport ship Garea, a ship that was still running from an extinguished world and in search of a new one. She was their parents' last child, for now, so the youngest of quite a motley bunch of Paxidors. The family itself known for its production of warriors and strategic thinkers it wasn’t a surprise she was pushed down that path as a child. Her older brothers and sisters served El Auria back when it was in its full flourish and now, they served Kaitos in a slightly more reduced role due to the nature of its infancy. It was a great surprise when Vi decided to move away from the norm of her people’s traditions and leave the planet, their system, at a young age. She had her father's stubborn streak, his drive and ambition but her mother's wonder and imagination of new experiences. At the age of 38 she decided to join Starfleet and in 2368 had gained entrance at the Academy in Europe. She chose to live in Ireland, she had found them to be a lively people and they matched her exuberance and love for life. She fell in love with them wholeheartedly and ended up embracing them so much she has picked up their accent as a result. Some could say that they imprinted on her at a young age. Vianola excelled, as expected, in the fields of security, strategy and was always quite protective of her friends. There is in fact a marker on her record for breaking a classmate's nose after they continued unwanted advances on one of Vi’s close friends. In the end charges were not pursued but a note made due to the nature and where the event took place. Her first posting was on the USS Potomac as a security officer and little did, she know that it would be the ship she’d serve on as a war began. There had been rumours of course, Deep Space Nine had done its best to avert it but in the end if another government want a war… a war happens. Fighting during the war for 2 years felt like 20 and the Potomac took part in some heavy mission, and she saw some things she will never unsee. The clean up after was much the same but she was out there for this kind of work, helping those that needed it. The supply runs they did make that difference. The fighting off of pirates trying to attack shipping lanes, supply lines made that difference, and she was sad to leave the Potomac after her 9 years of service. Still, she’d gained a nice black pip for her troubles, and she humbly still kept her role as a security officer with tactical duties attached. In 2381 she did a run as a security officer and personal trainer on the Utopia Planitia shipyards on Mars. There she struck up friendships with the crew, much like the Potomac, and even had a relationship with a Lt. Hevol, a Vulcan engineer. It was a strange relationship from the outside looking in. She was full of emotion, sometimes too much, and he a stoic and logical being but they formed a friendship that eventually ‘blossomed’ into something more and they settled into a life together. That was until the 2385 attack on Mars that ended so much life. Vianola had been on Earth doing some PT work with some cadets when news of the attack broke. She tried desperately to contact her friends, to contact Hevol, but as it would become clear the attack was devastating and swift. Vi had lost a lot, her love, her friends and her home, but it was as much as anyone else who had people there, lives there. She took 6 months leave to mourn and pick up pieces. It was particularly surprising that she got a message from Hevol’s mother 3 months after the event displaying a logical sadness and concern for Vi’s wellbeing. As Vianola got back into active service she took a lighter role at the Academy as a personal trainer once again. A task to get cadets into the right physical shape for the rigours of Starfleet life. It also meant she was closer to Mars; it didn’t feel right leaving it so soon after the attack and she felt attached to it. Over the next few years, she would stay in her capacity in the Academy but take up other duties such as drill instructor, weapons instructor and took Intro to Tactical once or twice when the Professor took unwell or had another engagement. In 2389 she took a position on the USS Hong Kong as its Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Officer. Then in 2401 she transferred to a position with more of a challenge, something with a larger scope. That being the Chief Security/Tactical Officer of Triton Seabase. However, in the wake of the emergence of Kaitos, the El Aurian's new home world, she was tasked with something much greater than she thought she would at her tender young age. Quickly she took up the role of a diplomat, new training given and put into effect in order to see if they could join the Federation as its newest member. However, at the moment they are still in the early stages but Vi had set the stage for further negotiations to be had. At her own request and given her newest set of skills she returned to Captain Culver's side and back into her old role of Chief Security/Tactical Officer. |
